Kwanzaa a week-long African American holiday observed from Dec. 26 through Jan. 1, focuses on the traditional African values of family, community responsibility, commerce and self` improvement.The name Kwanzaa is derived from the phrase, “matunda ya kwana” which means, “first fruits” in Swahili.

 

Join us on Saturday Dec.19, as we celebrate Kwanzaa, a celebration of food, creativity & [email protected] the National Black Doll Museum of History & Culture.

 

Take part in the family friendly activities,demonstrations, vendors, ethnic foods, a participatory celebration you may also sign up for open mic with a song, rap, dance poetry, spoken word, or words of wisdom.

 

While Kwanzaa is a traditional African-American celebration, it encourages and appreciates those who respect the culture and diversity of African Americans and their contributions to humanity and welcome those who wish to learn and celebrate with us as well.

 

This is an all age’s family event.
